Go to goldpass.umn.edu, click on Students & Alumni Login, you will be prompted to login with your Internet ID and password.

First time logging in

First time logging in

Login and complete your profile, there will be a few fields automatically completed, and you will need to fill in the empty fields. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).

To complete your profile, click the Edit link to the right of each box and fill in the details. Click Save.

You will also be prompted to agree to the User Agreement. Read and sign off on the user agreement. Now you are ready to start using GoldPASS.

We recommend updating your resume and profile (GPA, Classification, etc) at least once per year to ensure you are getting access to information that is most relevant for you.

GoldPASS is available to all enrolled, degree seeking students and alumni from the University of Minnesota (this includes all campuses: Crookston, Duluth, Morris, Rochester, Twin Cities), except for CSOM students.  

Alumni must have graduated. CSOM alumni have access to GoldPASS after graduation.

Students lose access if you are not enrolled in classes for 2 academic semesters.

Log into GoldPASS, click on My Account, next click on My Documents; under the section labeled Resumes, click on Add, upload your resume (PDF recommended), click on Save.

This happens after you upload your first resume while it is in pending status. You will be able to view and access My Activity and Submit Resume once your first resume has been approved.

In order to apply for any position through GoldPASS, you must upload a resume. Note, if you are in a college that reviews your first resume that is uploaded, you are not able to apply for a position through GoldPASS until your resume has been approved.

It is recommended to tailor each resume to the specific position you are applying too.

In GoldPASS, you can select if you want your resume to be visible to employers.  Employers are only able to view your default resume.

Many Career Services offices review your first resume; it can take up to 2 business days. If there are no questions, your resume will be approved. If follow-up is needed before approving your resume, you will receive email notification. If you have additional questions, contact your college's Career Services office.

Most resumes are reviewed within 2 business days of being uploaded.

If you are in a college that reviews your first resume and you receive email notification that your resume was not approved, your next step is to get your resume reviewed at your college's Career Services office. Once your resume has been reviewed and updated, your next step is to resubmit your resume for a second review.

Click on My Account, next click on My Activity. Click on the menu tabs to view: referrals, schedules, event registrations, survey response, job email alert, event agents, and internships.

Referrals - recorded each time your resume is sent to an employer or an employer views your resume directly.

Schedules - a record of all your sign-ups for On Campus Interviews.

Event Registrations - a record of all your sign-ups for career fairs/events.

Survey Response - a record of surveys you've completed within GoldPASS.

Job Email Alert - a record of all job email notifications you have set up.

Event Agents - a record of all event/fair email notifications you have set up.

Internships - a record of all formal internships tracked through GoldPASS (check with your Career Services office to see if this is applicable to your college).

Professional opportunities that are related to majors and degrees offered at the University of Minnesota that enhance student and/or alumni career development.  Opportunities can be full-time jobs, part-time jobs, summer jobs, internships, and volunteer positions.

On average, there are between 3,500-4,200 opportunities on GoldPASS per week.

Receive email alerts when new jobs and internships are posted.

  • To set up, click on Job/Internship Search tab, click on Job/Internship Search.
  • To conduct a search that produces optimal results, read the memos on the job search page.
  • Next, select criteria, click Search.
  • Once your criteria appears, click Email Me New Jobs, name your Job Agent and click Save.
  • To access your Job Email Alert, click on Saved Search on the left navigation bar.
  • To edit or delete your Job Email Alert(s), click on My Activity tab click on My Activity, and click on Job Email Alert.

Note, you are able to set up multiple Job Email Alerts.

Begin by clicking on the Job/Internship Search tab, then click on Job/Internship Search dropdown. Read the memos on the job search page to learn how to conduct an optimal search. To view all current positions, simply wait for all search results to load.

  • To narrow your search, select criteria, click Search.
  • To further refine your search, click on Advanced Search (example, to limit your results for paid internships), select "yes" in the Job Paid field. Be aware that many good internships are unpaid. 
  • Click on the Job ID/Job Title to see the details of a specific position.

Your search criteria may be too narrow. When you choose search criteria, try broadening your search to get more results (try adding job categories or removing specific majors).

I received an email or phone call from an employer about a position I did not apply for. Why did this happen?

When you create a GoldPASS account profile you can choose to make your resume and profile available for employers to search and view. You do this by selecting "Yes" in the "Allow Employer Viewing" field in your profile. Employers then have the ability to view your resume and contact you about open positions. If you do not want to be contacted, go into your profile and select "No" in the "Allow Employer Viewing" field.

To View On Campus Interviews (OCI) available to you, click the Interview On Campus tab and select View Interviews "I AM" Qualified For. Select any of the job titles of interest that appear on the search results page.

Another option is to select the dropdown View ALL On Campus Interviews. This is a list of all on campus interviews being held at the University of Minnesota. If you see one you qualify for that did not show up in your original search, make sure your profile is up-to-date (classification, cumulative GPA). Once you update your profile, log out and then re- login to the system to ensure it refreshes with the updated information. If the On Campus Interview is still not showing up in your list, contact your college's Career Services office.

To sign up for Interviews On Campus, click the Interview On Campus tab and select View Interviews "I AM" Qualified For. The results will show a list of positions with dates and organizations. Click on the Schedule ID/Job Title to view the full description. To sign up, click the Request Interview button. A lack of profile information (classification, GPA, etc) may prevent you from qualifying for an interview (update your profile information to ensure you have access to all applicable opportunities).  Once you have updated your profile information, logout and log back into the system to ensure your information is refreshed.
